For Agri-SMEs/Investees

For Agri SMEs

For Agri SMEs

The ACT Fund partners with established agri-SMEs that play a critical role in agricultural value chains by linking smallholder farmers to markets, finance, and value addition opportunities.

We recognize that agri-SMEs in emerging markets often face structural constraints, including limited access to appropriate financing, exposure to climate and market risks, and capacity gaps that can restrict growth. ACT Fund is designed to address these challenges through the provision of tailored financial solutions alongside dedicated technical assistance.

Our financing approach is aligned with the operational realities of agricultural businesses, offering instruments such as working capital, trade finance, and investment loans to support sustainable expansion. In parallel, our Technical Assistance Facility strengthens operational capacity, supports the adoption of climate-resilient and regenerative practices, and enhances long-term business resilience.

Through this integrated approach, ACT Fund aims to enable investees to scale responsibly, strengthen their engagement with smallholder farmers, and contribute to more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable agricultural systems.

Who We Support

ACT Fund targets established agri-SMEs that operate at critical points within agricultural value chains and demonstrate the potential to generate both commercial returns and measurable development impact.

We focus on businesses that play a catalytic role in connecting smallholder farmers to markets, enabling value addition, and strengthening supply chain resilience across emerging economies.

We partner with agri-SMEs that:

  • Have an established operating track record, typically with at least three years of operations and demonstrated commercial viability;
  • Maintain direct and scalable engagement with smallholder farmers through sourcing, service provision, or out grower models;
  • Operate within key segments of agricultural value chains, including aggregation, processing, logistics, and export;
  • Demonstrate clear growth potential, where access to financing can unlock expansion and increased market participation;
  • Show a commitment to sustainability, including the adoption of climate-resilient and regenerative agricultural practices.
