With a strong background in financial inclusion and development finance, Elizabeth adds complementary value to the team, supporting the expansion of our agri-focused financial institution portfolio. Prior to joining the CFC in April 2024, Elizabeth spent seven years with a smallholder farmer-centered microfinance institution in Myanmar. As a Senior Investment Manager, she led diverse fundraising efforts, including equity transactions, blended finance facilities, and debt arrangements involving 16 impact driven investors. Despite challenging country and market environments, she successfully navigated lender restructuring processes and strengthened the organization's corporate governance and risk management systems. Working closely with senior management, Elizabeth played a key role in strategic initiatives, including the development of a comprehensive climate finance strategy. Elizabeth's professional journey spans three continents over 13 years. Driven by a desire to create meaningful impact, she transitioned from a corporate finance career to development finance to address broader economic and social challenges. During this transition, she gained critical hands-on experience working with smallholder farmers and grassroot organizations, further solidifying her commitment to advancing financial inclusion and sustainability.
Elizabeth is actively pursuing her CFA® certification, having completed Levels I and II. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, a Master of Arts in International Relations from New York University and a Certificate in Sustainable Finance from Erasmus University. Committed to social impact, Elizabeth has worked with organizations such as Kiva and Hope International, strengthening financial and operational capacity in emerging markets.
